About me

Maggie Murray Counselling Lincoln

A Little Bit About Me…

Working in the field of mental health and well-being for over seven years, I work from a mindful and humanistic approach. I offer my client’s a confidential and safe space to explore their thoughts, feelings and responses to their life experiences and interaction with others. We are continuously growing as individual people and being open to learning and accepting ourselves with compassion and kindness we can then allow ourselves the freedom to grow and recover from past traumas and experiences. I am a registered and qualified integrative counsellor with a passion for supporting families through difficult life transitions.

I continue to attend regular CPD and clinical supervision to work ethically within the requirements of the BACP to maintain a high standard of practice with my client’s best interest at heart.

I have provided counselling to adults at the Lincoln YMCA, Lincolnshire Counselling and other organisations such as Serco for LCC employees. I continue to work within Welton Counselling Practice as well as in a private practice within the Business hub at BG Futures Building, Bishop Grosseteste University.

My story

  • Childcare career

I have always felt passionately about working with children and families and my career began as a NNEB Nursery Nurse. I have worked in school settings; at the mother and baby mental health unit at Lincoln County Hospital and in family homes.

  • Full-time Mum

After starting my own family, I continued to support families in the community as my three children grew up. I enjoyed childminding as well as running local toddler groups including the National Childbirth Trust. I have also trained and volunteered with Homestart supporting families in their homes with challenging life experiences.

Throughout my children’s schooling I was an active committee member within their preschools and primary schools.

  • Counsellor

After some personal, life changing events whilst staying at home as a full-time Mother, I decided to retrain in the counselling field.

Since then, I have provided counselling to adults at the Lincoln YMCA, Lincolnshire Counselling and other organisations such as Serco for LCC employees. I continue to work within Welton Counselling Practice as well as in a private practice at Business Hub, Bishop Grosseteste University.

I have also been involved in working with children and young people at CASY (Counselling and Support for Young People). I’ve ran nurture groups and counselled within schools and in private practice in Lincolnshire.
